Title: 'De Roode Zee met de Kusten van Arabien in her Naauw tussen Aden en Zeila tot aan Bassora'. Issued c. 1727, Leyden (see Tibbetts), by van der Aa. Appeared in Gottfrieds "De Aanmerkenswardige Voyagien".

Fine and scarce early 18th century engraved map, with immense margins and printed on heavy paper.

An interesting map, based on a sinusoidal projection. Along the southern coast in large letters are "Trogloditen of Badojers". Large vignette cartouche at bottom left featuring allegorical figures representing Arabia & Africa.

In fine, clean condition, minor light even paper toning.
