Title: 'New York from Bergen Hill'.
A magnificent panorama with great detail of New York in the mid nineteenth century, concentrating on Manhattan, with Central Park on the far left. Engraved by R.Loudan, and published seven years before the Brooklyn Bridge opened.
It is in generally good condition except that the horizontal fold 18cms from the bottom of the sheet has come apart in 4 places, leaving slits in the paper approx 2cm, 12cm, 0.5cm and 4cm long. There are also 2 very small holes in vertical folds (one repaired) and a very small tear just above the meeting of the vertical centrefold and the horizontal fold. Apart from the one small hole in one of the vertical folds there is no paper missing.
